Massillon 6-5, Austintown Fitch 5-7

MASSILLON

Cali Mikovich’s four hits included a homer in the opener. Sierra Pierce and Alex Corradi each had two hits. For the Tigers, B. Rohr hit a three-run homer and H. Keim tripled. In the second game, winning pitcher Alex Franken hit three homers and drove in seven runs for the Falcons (11-7). Her homers came in consecutive at-bats. Mikovich’s two hits included a double. Billie Jo Cox and Nicholette Zordich also had two hits.

Howland 11, NDCL 1

AKRON

Hannah Kowach had three hits and drove in three runs for the Tigers. Kowach tossed a five-inning four-hitter. Leah Pollifrone had two hits.

Howland 7, Akron Hoban 4

AKRON

Emily Price, Pollifrone and Hannah Burke each had two hits the Tigers. Kowach homered and drove in three runs. Price also homered while Burke doubled.

Bedford 2-9, Cardinal Mooney 0-10

BEDFORD

Kasey Lett hit a solo homer for Bedford (10-3) in the opener. Winning pitcher Jen Spoto (10-1) struck out seven and walked none for the Bearcats. Tiffany Komara struck out five and walked one for the Cardinals. Mooney (6-4) won the second game in nine innings as Jami DiFabio’s four hits included two triples and a double. She drove in five runs. Lauren Markovich drove in the winning run, Bridget Sweeney had three hits and two RBIs, and Damani Santiago had two hits. Komar (3-4) earned the victory in a relief appearance. Kayla Lanzo doubled.

Ursuline 7, Richmond Edison 0

YOUNGSTOWN

Makayla Shore tossed a two-hitter, striking out 10 and walking two at the Youngstown State University softball complex. The Irish scored five runs in the first inning aided by a two-run doubles by Stephanie Ohalek and Megan Ross, and a RBI double by Kara Gatta. Macey Gunther, Ohalek and Ross each had two hits.

Ursuline 13, Geneva 3

YOUNGSTOWN

Ohalek’s three hits drove in two runs for the Irish (11-4-1) in the five-inning game. Ross’ two hits included and drove in three runs. Cassie Hanuschak, Gunther, McKenzie Stimpert and Christina Xenakis had two hits apiece. One of Hanuschak’s was a triple. Shore (11-4-1) scattered four hits. For Geneva (5-12), A. Duneda doubled.

Richmond Edison 7, Liberty 5

YOUNGSTOWN

Leah Leshnack tripled, doubled and drove in three runs while Samantha Serrano had three hits. Lyndsay Johnson struck out 12 and walked four. For Edison (6-12), Linsey Morrison’s two hits included a triple. Charlie McConnell and Skylar Fankhauser also had two hits.

Liberty 7, Geneva 2

YOUNGSTOWN

Allie Adlar’s four hits included a homer and two doubles. She drove in two runs. Also for the Leopards (6-8), Lashnack hit two triples and scored two runs while Amy Mikulich contributed three singles and two runs scored. Serrano had two hits while winning pitcher Johnson (5-7) whiffed 13 and walked five. For Geneva, Jamie Verno doubled.

Lakeview 6, Champion 3

CHAMPION

Hannah Petrosky’s three hits included a triple and drove in two runs for the Bulldogs (10-1). Laura Innocenti’s two hits drove in two runs while Kylee Mann hit a two-run double. Winning pitcher Taylor Wald struck out five and walked two. For the Golden Flashes (9-3-1), Amber Ricci tripled and doubled.

Grand Valley 13-11, Berkshire 3-2

ORWELL

Abby Takacs held Brekshire to four hits in five innings of work to lead the Mustangs. Shar Miller (3 hits and and an RBI), Katie Paskey (two hits and two runs), Kate Futty and Jess Finley all doubled in the win. In the second game, Miller doubled and drove in three runs. Paskey scored three times and stole four bases.
