Rev. Francis installed at Kinsman Presbyterian

KINSMAN

The Rev. Susan H. Francis was installed as the called pastor of Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St., during the worship service Feb. 23.

She was ordained at the church May 20, 2012, and has served two years there as designated pastor.

The Rev. Mrs. Francis grew up in western Pennsylvania and graduated from Butler School of Nursing in 1974. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University in 2006 with a double major in religious studies and women’s studies. In 2009, she graduated from Vanderbilt Divinity School with a master of divinity degree.

Mrs. Francis and her husband, David W. Francis, are the parents of five children and grandparents of three.

Kinsman Presbyterian is committed to reaching out to its neighbors.

During the past two years, a tutoring program for children has been established. The congregation has a men’s organization and a women’s association. It also is host to a preschool, senior citizen’s group, Boy Scouts, Quilt Club, and Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and Al-Anon meetings.

The church has Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and service at 10:45.
