CANFIELD
One day after falling to Howland, the Cardinals (8-7, 4-2 All-American Conference) earned their revenge against their AAC rival. Jimmy Leone, who took the loss in a on-hit pitching performance on Thursday, drove in three runs to lead the Cardinals. Alec Hammond picked up the win on the mound, striking out five and allowing six hits and four earned runs in five-plus innings of work. Edmond Pilolli and Carter Rhoads each scored two runs. For Howland (11-5, 2-1), Kyle Watson batted 3-for-4 and drove in two while Ray Hill scored twice. Howland out-hit Canfield, 8-7.
Niles 3-6, Lakeview 1-5
NILES
In game one, Niles (11-6) scored twice in the fourth and once in the sixth to pull away. Despite six innings of three-hit pitching, David LeMasters was outdueled by Niles starter Kyle Paden, who threw a complete game of four strikeouts and six hits allowed. Justin Lopes scored two runs. In game two, Lopes reached on a single with one out in the eighth, stole second and came around to score on Chance Hanshaw’s single. Lopes earned the save by setting down the Bulldogs (6-7) in order in the bottom of the eighth.
Champion 6, Pymatuning Valley 5
CHAMPION
A four-run fourth inning paced the Flashes (7-4). Joey Batcho’s two-out single scored two runs and provided the winning margin. With the tying run on third with one out in the seventh, Champion first baseman Chris Miller came up with two consecutive defensive stops to end the Lakers’ (5-9) threat.
Austintown Fitch 12, Warren Harding 1 (5 innings)
AUSTINTOWN
The Falcons had 12 hits and Alex DiFrancesco did the rest. The senior pitcher earned the win with a complete game two-hit, seven-strikeout performance. Phil Socha went 3-for-3 with two runs, five RBIs and a home run, Kyle Benyo went 1-for-3 with a home run, Zack Miller went 3-for-3 with two runs, and two RBIs and Shane Vitullo went 2-for-3 with one run. For Harding, Kyle Saunders went 1-for-2 with a run scored and Doug Painter went 1-for-2 with a double.
Hubbard 14, Liberty 0
HUBBARD
Winning pitcher Vince Sferra tossed a five-inning two-hitter, striking out nine and walking none. Tyler Taafe contributed two hits, four RBIs and three runs scored. BJ Fronzaglio also drove in four RBIs while Adam Thirion had two hits and scored twice. Also for the Eagles (8-9), Anthony Ross had two RBIs and Alex Grethouse scored three runs. For the Leopards, Nicky Byle and Aaron Carnighon singled.
West Branch 11, Minerva 4
MINERVA
Winning pitcher Kip DeShields (5-1) drove in four runs for the Warriors (10-6, 8-2 Northeastern Buckeye Conference). Three of them came on a first-inning homer. Ryan Adams had three hits while Dylan Greenawalt and Dalton Hartshorn each had two hits and two RBIs. For the Lions (10-7, 5-5), Jansten Locke drove in two runs.

KINSMAN
Jeremy Forsythe earned the win with seven strikeouts in a complete game performance for the Mustangs (8-4). Badger counterpart Bryson Stemoch matched him pitch-for-pitch except for Bryan Leipply’s third inning RBI double. The Braves fell to 4-7.
Woodridge 18, Garfield 10
GARRETTSVILLE
Woodridge outslugged the G-Men in a slugfest that included 10 runs in the seventh inning. The two teams combined for 31 hits. Freshman Preston Clark tripled, scored two runs and drove in three. Kevin Kelleher homered, doubled and drove in three. For Garfield, Nick Jurkevic homered and tripled and scored three runs. Mike Walter earned the win on the mound for Woodridge.

Cardinal Mooney 7, Austintown Fitch 5
AUSTINTOWN
The Cardinals improved to 10-0, thanks to five runs in the game’s first three innings. Drew Beck and Jow Cunningham doubled in support of starting pitcher Gino DiVincenzo. DiVincenzo picked up the win on the mound. For Fitch (7-8), Zack Miller, Pat Gerberry and Kyle Benyo all had extra-base hits.
Girard 3, Ursuline 1
STRUTHERS
Kyle Harris (5-0) and Christian Bello combined to toss a four-hitter for the Indians (13-1). Evan Standohar had three hits and Joe Colapietro contributed two hits and two RBIs.
