Family night
AUSTINTOWN
The Marine Corps will have a family night at 6 p.m. Monday in the Austintown Fitch High School cafeteria, 4560 Falcon Drive. The event is for those interested in joining or learning about the Marines.
Those already a part of the Marines also are welcome to attend. Staff Sgt. Daniel E. Barker will be speaking, as well as an FBI agent who served in the Marines.
Those who attend can learn more about the Marines, the types of training involved and what is expected when joining the service branch. Refreshments will be served.
Donation to clinic
YOUNGSTOWN
The Home Savings Charitable Foundation donated $5,000 to the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic on Rush Boulevard to be used for expansion of detoxification services and the recovery-supportive housing program.
The donation will go toward construction of an eight-bed recovery-supportive housing unit near the clinic’s main campus. The project will increase capacity by up to 400 people in detox programs and up to 188 people in housing, said Jerry Carter, Neil Kennedy executive director.
