AUSTINTOWN

Gabby Butcher and Cali Mikovich each had two hits including homers and two RBIs for the Falcons (10-6). Alex Franken’s two hits included a double. McKenzie Luknis and Alex Coe doubled while Jessica Welsh had two hits.

Howland 8, Akron Springfield 7

HOWLAND

The Tigers improved to 6-6 on the season, scoring four runs in the seventh and final inning. Howland trailed by as much as 5-1 and 7-4. Olga Grech doubled, scored a run and drove in three. Hannah Kowach doubled a run. Hannah Burke picked up the win in relief. For Springfield, Alexis Slider singled twice, drove in three runs and stole two bases. Laura Stubbs scored a run, stole a base and drove in one more.

HANOVERTON

Winning pitcher Taylor Helon (6-2) tossed a one-hitter for the Raiders (14-4, 9-0 Inter Tri-County League Tier One). Jordan Youngs hit two homers and drove in six runs. Codi Taylor had three hits while Caragyn Yanek, Jessica Skirpak and Sarah Moretti each had two.

Cardinal Mooney 15-17, Youngstown Christian 1-7

BOARDMAN

In the first game, Tiffany Komara pitched a one-hitter and tripled. Bridget Sweeney’s four hits included a triple and two doubles. She drove in three runs. Jami DiFabio had three hits and Julie Cook and Brittaney Hendricks two apiece. In the second game, Sweeney (3-0) earned the win. Adrianna Popovich and Julie Cook each had three hits as the Cardinals (5-3) won their fourth-straight game. Sydney Brown doubled while Nicolette Filo and DiFabio had two hits each. For the Eagles (4-4), Julia Gavin hita a three-run double.

Columbiana 4, McDonald 3 (13 innings)

MCDONALD

Lauren Schlueter’s RBI double scored S. Ross with the winning run in the 13th inning. Ross scored two runs for the Clippers (13-2). For the Blue Devils (6-4, 5-4 ITCL Tier Two), Deidre McKeener had three hits and Olivia Sansom scored two runs.

West Branch 7, Minerva 6

BELOIT

Bailey McElwain’s two hits included a double and drove in two runs for the Warriors (11-3, 7-2 Northeastern Buckeye Conference). Kaylie Lewis and Catie Metzgar also had two hits while Sarah Weber doubled. For the Lions (12-3, 5-2), Erica McCauley had three hits.

Lordstown 1, Maplewood 0

LORDSTOWN

In a true pitcher’s duel, Hailey Toporcer and Lordstown outlasted Brooke Dawson and Maplewood in a game that saw the two combine for 21 strikeouts and six hits allowed. The Red Devils crossed the plate for the game’s only run in the first, when they loaded the bases on a pair of singles and an error. There, Dawson walked her only batter of the game. She struck out 11 and allowed three hits. Toporcer struck out 10, walked none and herself allowed three hits. Maplewood (2-7) committed three errors as a team.

Mathews 6, Badger 0

KINSMAN

Cheyenne Eggens pitched a one-hitter and struck out 15 as the Mustangs (9-4, 6-1 NAC) beat the Braves. Leading the offense for Mathews was Jenna Siefert doubled, stole three bases and scored twice, Maddi Grimes tripled and scored and Meredith Grimes drove in two runs. Maddie Williams stole three bases, scored twice and drove in a run and Lenna Hoff had two RBIs.

Garfield 4, Woodridge 0

GARRETTSVILLE

Whitney Miller threw her second shutout of the season for the G-Men (8-1, 5-1 Portage Trail Conference). Miller struck out eight batters and scattered six hits. Garfield’s Shelby Baughman crushed a double to deep left-center with two outs in the 5th inning to score Madisson Geddes and Taylor Brown. Katie Fairbee went 3 for 3 with two singles and a double. Hailey Scupholm and Kylie Gregory each had two singles for the Bulldogs (4-10, 3-6).

Thursday

Poland 12, Warren Harding 2 (5 innings)

POLAND

Taylor Miokovic struck out seven and allowed five hits to pick up the win in the Bulldogs’ win by the 10-run rule. At the plate, she was even more impressive, going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI. Amanda Wire and Brielle Nocera also scored two runs. Jenna Schettler, Ally Deemer and Chloe Bush also had two hits. Poland had 12 hits and stole five bases.

South Range 5, Lisbon 0

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

Winning pitcher Yanek (7-2) doubled. Skirpak’s two hits included a double and drove in three runs. Moretti also doubled.
