A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:
HUBBARD
April 23
Drugs: Authorities received a report that someone in the 300 block of Jacobs Road may have fallen from a tree before they charged 52-year-old Michael R. Reed of Jacobs Road, Hubbard, with possession of a drug-abuse instrument. A paramedic found a syringe in Reed’s sleeve, a police report said.
Recovered property: A woman found her neighbor’s grill, lawn mower and bicycle wedged between two trees.
April 27
Menacing: A Westview Avenue woman alleged her boyfriend’s mother has placed harassing and threatening messages about her on Facebook.
Recovered property: A $50 suitcase was found in a business parking lot in the 400 block of East Liberty Street.
April 28
Criminal damaging: A 9-square-foot storm window was damaged, possibly with a piece of landscaping equipment, in the 100 block of Drummond Avenue.
Harassment: An East Water Street man said another man has repeatedly called the accuser trying to get him to send or claim money.
LIBERTY
April 24
Theft/weapon: Police responded to a shoplifting situation at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, before charging 51-year-old Philip B. Armour of Goleta Avenue, Youngstown, with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, as well as carrying a concealed weapon and theft, both misdemeanors, when, they said, Armour threw a small knife behind a bench after he had been detained. Also arrested was Daron N. Little, 47, of Madison Street, Campbell, who was wanted on a Boardman warrant.
Harassment: A Logan Avenue woman said she received 18 such calls.
Counterfeit: A 26-year-old Youngstown woman reportedly passed two fake $100 bills and three phony $5 bills at Walmart.
Arrest: A traffic stop near Liberty Street resulted in the arrest of 24-year-old Jamare Myers of Orange Drive, Hermitage, Pa., on a marijuana-possession charge. Myers, who also was wanted on a Mercer County, Pa., warrant, had a suspected marijuana cigar, police said.
Theft: A 40-foot ladder was taken from the side of a garage in the 400 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road.
April 25
Theft: The rear license plate was stolen off a car in the 1200 block of Trumbull Avenue.
Arrest: Youngstown police apprehended 31-year-old Robert M. Magalotti before turning him over to township authorities. Magalotti, of Broadway Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant charging receiving stolen property and possession of criminal tools.
Drugs: Officers received a tip about a possible drug transaction on Kris Lane, where they charged Thomas M. Milligan III of Prospect Street, Girard, with drug abuse and possession of dangerous drugs. Milligan, 33, had a small bag of suspected cocaine and had bought prescription drugs illicitly, a report showed.
April 26
Robbery: Authorities searching for a wanted person near Interstate 80 and state Route 711 apprehended 43-year-old Thomas R. Naples of Poplar Street, Youngstown. He was wanted on a robbery charge.
Theft: A $2,600 coin-operated vending machine was stolen from Equity Management, 5925 Belmont Ave.
Criminal damaging: A 16-year-old boy and his mother near U.S. Route 422 told police a girl, also 16, grabbed and threw the boy’s cellphone to the ground, breaking its screen.
April 27
Recovered property: An Ohio license plate was found in a yard in the 30 block of James Lane.
April 28
Fraud: A Lucretia Drive woman discovered $1,000 had been removed from her checking account electronically.
Theft: A Hubbard woman noticed her purse missing from a shopping cart at a Goldie Road store.
April 29
Arrest: Police took a township girl, no age listed, into custody on a warrant before she was taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center in Youngstown.
GIRARD
April 25
Harassment: An East Liberty Street woman said a man has made derogatory calls pertaining to the accuser and her daughter.
Harassment: Two South Market Street women told police they have gotten numerous calls laced with profanities and insults.
Menacing: A Smithsonian Street woman said her former husband has threatened her.
April 26
Breaking and entering: An officer on routine patrol noticed the front door to a residence in the 600 block of Washington Avenue open. Heating vents were removed from the living room, and a washing machine and dryer were found with missing parts.
April 27
Arrest: Officers dealt with a disturbance on North State Street before taking into custody 31-year-old Clint L. Beaver of North State, Girard. He was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.
April 28
Theft: Two rolls of fencing and two gates were stolen from Tight Seal Glass Block, 434 N. State St.
Theft: An AM/FM/compact-disc player was removed from a car on Trumbull Avenue.
Assault: A Trumbull Avenue man serving a three-day eviction notice to a woman told authorities a man at her residence struck the accuser’s chest.
Thefts: Police received several complaints of car break-ins in the 1700 block of Squaw Creek Drive in which money, a global-positioning-system unit, an iPhone and other property was stolen.
April 29
Trespassing: Two males were seen running from a vacant home in the 400 block of Indiana Avenue.
Theft: Ten OxyContin pills were stolen from a residence in the 10 block of South Randolph Avenue.
