Youngstown's Violence Interruption Patrols move into full swing today
YOUNGSTOWN
City police will be joined by several other law-enforcement agencies at a 2:30 p.m. press conference in council chambers today to officially kick off the Violence Interruption Patrols program.
The program puts extra officers on the road in high crime areas to deter crime and find weapons.
The city already has been running a modified version of the program for several weeks.
Expected to be on hand are police Chief Robin Lees, Mayor John A. McNally and representatives from the U.S. attorney’s office.
