Bacon will put sizzle in fest set for Sunday

The inaugural Mahoning Valley Bacon Fest will be Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at St. Michael’s Family Center, state Route 46.

Bacon-centered food will be presented by local restaurants for judging by the attendees. Live music will be provided by the Jeff Bremer Trio.

The event, sponsored by Bakon Vodka and Rust Belt Brewing Co., will feature bacon bloody marys and local bacon-centric beers.

Attendance is limited to 250 adults age 21 and over. Tickets are $40 and may be purchased in advance by calling 330-744-0264. Tickets also will be sold at the door the day of the event.

The event is sponsored by the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra and will raise money for its children’s music-education programs.
