“Bare,SDRq a contemporary rock musical by Damon Intrabartolo and Jon Hartmere Jr. and directed by Liz Rubino, Oakland Center for the Arts, 220 W. Boardman St., Youngstown, auditions at 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. “Bare” follows a group of teens wrestling with issues of identity, sexuality and religion at a co-ed Catholic boarding school. Those auditioning must be between 16 (with a parental-consent form) and 25 (able to play 17). There are also several adult roles. Prepare one minute of song in the style of the show (must have sheet music) and be prepared to read cold from the script. Come prepared to move. Show performances planned for July 17-25. “Songs by Sondheim” musical revue, directed by Anthony Ruggiero, Area Community Theatre of Sharpsville, Pierce Opera House, 100 N. Mercer Ave., Sharpsville, Pa., auditions 2 to 4 p.m. May 18 and 7 to 9 p.m. May 20. Sondheim’s most-popular musicals include “Into the Woods,” “A Little Night Music,” “Company,” “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” “Assassins,” “Sunday in the Park with George” and “Sweeney Todd.” Those auditioning can sing a Sondheim song or something else, and it can be a solo or a duet. What auditionees sing in their audition is not necessarily what they will perform in the show if they are chosen. There will be several group numbers in the show. Auditions are open to high school students and adults. Rehearsals for the review will begin in July. Performances will be Sept. 4, 6 and 7; there is no Friday performance.
