Power outage

Power outage

VIENNA

About 3,000 people, mostly in Vienna, were without power after a utility pole on Sodom-Hutchings Road, near Pin Oak Drive, caught on fire, leading transformers to blow and power lines to fall.

The fire was reported at 11:50 p.m. Saturday, according to the Vienna Fire Department. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The fire led to a chain reaction of power lines to fall, which led to some Ohio Edison customers in Howland and Liberty to be without power, a Vienna firefighter said.

Ohio Edison took care of the problem, and power was restored to all who had lost it by 1 p.m. Sunday, the firefighter said.
