Youngstown mayor is looking for a new representative on MVSD board

YOUNGSTOWN

Mayor John A. McNally is taking applications from those interested in being his representative on the four-person Mahoning Valley Sanitary District’s board of directors.

Those wanting to apply should do so no later than 5 p.m. April 11. Applications should be sent to McNally at 26 S. Phelps St., Youngstown, OH 44503 or by email at mayormcnally@cityofyoungstownoh.com.

Presley Gillespie, who heads the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp., has served as the mayor’s representative, but is not seeking reappointment.

The three-year term begins May 5.

The MVSD provides water to about 200,000 customers in Mahoning and Trumbull counties through Youngstown and Niles, its member cities.

The other appointing entities to the sanitary-district board are Youngstown City Council, and the mayor and city council in Niles.
