Today’s gays need no special rights; ‘Bizzare-o’ US policy on Ukraine; Solution to pothole plague; Get rid of tea partiers

Today’s gays have no need for any special rights, protections

The recent letter, “Despite NFL players coming out, many gays still fighting for rights,” is a total misrepresentation of the facts.

The two players the writer mentioned are attractive, rich, educated and also probably nice people. What rights is the writer talking about? They can go anywhere and also do anything they want in the privacy of their homes. Look at all of the successful gifted gays on TV who are very prosperous and live very good lives.

Now, as a Christian, I believe that their lifestyle is wrong, but the Scriptures tell us not to judge those outside the Church, and God will do that on the day of judgment. Having been an evangelist and leader in the church in New York and Ohio, I have met many former gay individuals who were converted to Christ and are now heterosexual. So anyone who says that they cannot change is deceived.

We are not to hate gay people or deprive them of any rights but neither they nor anyone else should be advertising their sexual preference because that is no one’s business what they do when they are in their own home behind closed doors.

The Bible says that God said that it is not good for man to live alone so He made a woman for him. God made them male and female so they could procreate and fill the earth. Just on a natural and common-sense level everyone is born of a mother and father, not a man and a man or a woman and a woman. When human beings are young they have an aversion to the opposite sex because they are afraid of differences, but when they mature they are attracted to the opposite sex as God designed. Those who don’t make this transition are gender- confused and deserve our love, understanding and help but to think that this is a natural deviation just doesn’t make sense.

US actions toward Ukraine expose ‘bizarre-o’ foreign policy

OK, let’s see if I got this RIGHT. The U.S. State Department for months stirs up a bunch of crazies to overthrow a duly elected government in western Ukraine, using Molotov cocktails and anything else they can throw at local peacekeepers.

And in the end, a government was overthrown by mob rule. And the mob gets the blessings of the U.S. government because it suits our political interests.

Next, the eastern part of Ukraine holds a peaceful democratic election and votes overwhelmingly to leave Ukraine and annex itself to Russia, and the U.S. government sees this as illegal?

Either we live in an America that is totally corrupt (my guess), or we are living in the bizarre-o world of Superman fame where right is wrong and wrong is right, where up is down and down is up. I sometimes wonder.

How to solve the pothole plague

I have an idea ... let’s just TURN our so-called roads into one-way lanes. The only half-decent section is right down the center of the road on which we could all drive to avoid damaging our cars.

These potholes can now be classified as “craters.” On our road trips we have noticed that Ohio ranks high for having bad roads. I guess our tax money is being spent on more important things.

Get rid of Cruz, Paul, Boehner, tea party’s Republican puppets

I saw a cartoon in a newspaper that asked the question “What’s the difference between Congress and Hollywood?” The answer: “Hollywood only had 3 stooges.” That’s pretty much right on the button.

Hopefully the American people will finally see that the tea-party puppet masters pull the strings on the Republicans in the House and Senate and vote accordingly. It’s time to put a halt to people like Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Michele Bachmann and John Boehner. If for some reason they would win back the Senate and keep control of the House and a decision had to be made to either create a jobs package for the middle class or give more tax cuts to big corporations, what do you think their decision would be?

The only thing the American people would have going for them would be the presidential veto.

Isn’t it something that all of the governors who are trying to keep people from voting are Republican? They thought they could defeat Obama with their dirty tricks, but it didn’t work and it won’t work in 2016.

Voters have to stop and take a look at all of the garbage that has been strewn around Washington since 2009 and ask themselves if they want these kinds of people running their country. Vote Democratic.
