Submit information for Holy Week, Easter

The Vindicator will run a listing of area services that are open to the public in observance of Palm Sunday, April 13; Holy Thursday, April 17; Good Friday, April 18; Holy Saturday, April 19; and Easter, April 20.

The deadline to submit information is 5 p.m. April 9. Publication will be April 12.

Information should include the denomination and name of the church, address, city or suburb, the day, time, type of service, your name and a phone number for verification.

Canfield Crosswalk

CANFIELD

A seasonal tradition will continue at Canfield Presbyterian Church, 140 W. Main St., with the 2014 Crosswalk Easter Production from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 9.

Actors and singers will dramatize and incorporate music to five Holy Week scenes based on the sacred Scripture stories. Scenes are Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, Jesus’ cleansing the temple, Mary anointing Jesus’ feet, Jesus’ crucifixion alongside two criminals and Thomas doubting Jesus’ Resurrection.

A free-will offering dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the Crosswalk will follow.

Broadcast set

The 184th semiannual worldwide General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be broadcast live next month from Salt Lake City, Utah.

The live broadcast will be received at the Youngstown Stake Center, 2205 Tibbetts Wick Road, Girard, and at the Warren Chapel, 1321 State Road, Champion, from noon and 4 p.m. next Saturday and April 6.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir will provide music. The choir’s “Music and the Spoken Word” will be broadcast live at 11:30 a.m. to noon April 6.

Thomas S. Monson, church president, will speak, and messages will be given by the First Presidency, members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and general officers of the church.

Seder meal

Giselle Le’Aupepe of Jews for Jesus will present Christ in the Passover at a Seder meal at 5 p.m. April 6 at Canfield Christian Church, 123 S. Broad St. A dinner will follow the program.

Dramatist at church

Dramatist Mark Price will speak at masses at 5 p.m. next Saturday and April 9 and 11 a.m. April 6 at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St. At other free programs, he will portray St. Joseph at 7 p.m. April 7 and St. Francis of Assisi at 7 p.m. April 8.
