Court no-shows arrested; one hands over bag of grass

YOUNGSTOWN

Police arrested two men on warrants for failure to appear in municipal court after pulling over a car they were in for an improper turn about 7:45 p.m. Thursday.

Antonio Barnes, 27, of Winona Avenue, the car’s driver, told police he did not have a license when he was stopped and pulled into a drive on North Richview Avenue, and he also gave them a bag of marijuana.

Besides the warrant, he also was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension and cited for possession of marijuana and taken to the Mahoning County jail.

Also taken to the jail on a warrant was a passenger, 24-year-old Jeffrey Scott of North Evanston Avenue, reports said.
