POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent police activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

March 18

Identity fraud: A Stoner Avenue woman discovered $693 worth of fraudulent activity to her credit card.

March 19

Theft: A man reported a roll of insulated copper and a hydraulic tube stolen from his Coit Road home.

March 21

Criminal mischief: A Stewart Road man reported his vehicle was damaged.

March 22

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a residence in the 6800 block of Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, then stole a bench-grinding device and a drill sharpener.

Identity fraud: A Hunters Hill Drive man learned his identity had been compromised.

BOARDMAN

March 21

Domestic violence: Raymond Gallaugher Jr., 38, was taken into custody at his Mathews Road apartment. The Poland man was wanted on a warrant charging him.

Theft: A woman discovered a $399 iPad device missing from her Aravesta Avenue residence.

Burglary: A woman staying at a Market Street motel told authorities someone had entered her room and took $170 from her purse.

Theft: A woman stole an $899 computer from Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave., and left in a small silver vehicle.

Harassment: A Glenwood Avenue woman told officers a caller pretending to represent Ohio Edison Co. claimed her utility would be shut off in 15 minutes because of a past-due bill.

Theft: Amanda M. Dodd, 23, of Southern Boulevard, Boardman, was charged in the theft of $112 worth of merchandise from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road.

Arrest: Authorities arrested 55-year-old Fayza N. Zarour at his residence on Barbie Drive, Boardman, on three Canfield warrants charging two counts of violating a protection order and one of aggravated menacing.

March 22

Burglary: To an apartment in the 7300 block of Salinas Trail, though it appeared nothing was stolen.

Theft: A Youngstown woman reported her $500 cellphone stolen while at a restaurant in the 1200 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Possible theft: A woman noticed 120 medications missing from her vehicle at a township car wash.

Stolen property: Authorities responded to a complaint about a car blocking a Southern Boulevard driveway before taking into custody 30-year-old Christopher S. Woloschak of Southern Boulevard, Boardman, on a felony receiving-stolen-property charge. Inside the vehicle were tools that had been stolen from a garage in Youngstown, a report showed.

Recovered property: Police found a vehicle’s license plate after a Wildwood Drive woman had reported it stolen.

Theft: Carla T. Edmonds, 42, was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Market Street. Edmonds, of West Warren Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on a Niles theft warrant.

March 23

Theft: Henry A. Garner of Hillman Street, Youngstown, was charged with stealing a set of Bluetooth headphones and 13 other items from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive. The 50-year-old Garner also was wanted on a Franklin County warrant charging him with a parole violation.

Theft: Edna L. Hector, 30, of Cameron Avenue, Youngstown, and Phillip J. Carter, 54, of Stocker Avenue, Youngstown, were charged after $991 worth of electronics equipment was stolen from Walmart. Hector also was charged with resisting arrest when, police said, she refused to get out of their cruiser and allow officers to conduct a search of her person.

Criminal mischief: A Sylvia Lane woman alleged her boyfriend intentionally let the air out of a tire on her car while in the 5700 block of Sheridan Road.

Arrest: A traffic stop in the 8000 block of South Avenue led to the arrest of 21-year-old Devoun M. Fletcher of Terrace Drive, Boardman, who was wanted on a felony warrant from Alliance charging unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Theft: A Centervale Avenue man reported $1,398 worth of income-tax refunds stolen.

Vandalism: A New Middletown woman driving on U.S. Route 224 told police a motorist tossed what appeared to be a full water bottle, which left dents and scratches on her car’s driver’s-side door. Damage came to $500.

Theft: Nicole C. Glass-Sillaman, 22, of Center Road, Poland, faced a theft charge as well as one felony count of drug abuse after $30 worth of clothing was stolen from Walmart. Glass-Sillaman also had six Methadone pills in her pocket and no prescription, police said.

Vandalism: Police conducting a welfare check at a Market Street motel discovered human feces throughout a room. The occupant was taken to a hospital.

March 24

Theft: Sabrina E. March, 25, of Indianapolis was charged with theft; Andrea C. Davidson, 39, of Manchester Avenue Youngstown, faced charges of theft and obstructing official business; and Dean A. Groomer, 20, also of Indianapolis, was charged with complicity to theft after $323 worth of clothing was stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Police charged 42-year-old Wendy L. Bates of Fifth Street, Struthers, with theft and possessing criminal tools after four pairs of shoes were stolen from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road. Bates, who also was wanted on three warrants, had a pair of wire cutters, a report said.

Misuse of a credit card: A Poland woman learned that her credit card was used to make a total of $1,343 worth of fraudulent charges at three Boardman stores.

Robbery: A Youngstown boy, 16, was charged with robbery and two counts of obstructing official business, and 20-year-old Calvin L. Moore of Katherine Street, Youngstown, was charged with obstructing official business after $4 worth of candy was stolen from Walmart. The teen threatened to harm a loss-prevention official before leading police on a foot chase, a report showed.

Theft: Three people stole two computers from Walmart.

Identity theft: A Forest Park Drive woman said she received two automated-teller-machine cards each addressed to another person.

Identity fraud: A Larkridge Drive man reported his two daughters’ Social Security numbers were used without permission to file for income-tax refunds.

Burglary: Occurred in the 600 block of Angiline Drive after the homeowner noticed a garage door open. Taken were several gift cards.

Criminal damaging: A car sustained a broken rear passenger-side window at a Market Street dealership.

Identity theft: A Forestridge Drive woman told police 17 unauthorized online transactions had been made to accounts in her name and in her husband’s.

Theft: A man in his 20s stole a $26 bottle of alcohol from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.

March 25

Domestic violence: Kyree R. Grabe, 19, of Trussit Avenue, Youngstown, was picked up on a warrant after his former girlfriend alleged that Grabe had repeatedly struck and bashed her head against a window while they were arguing in a vehicle at the Southern Park Mall.

Citation: Debbie L. Dupay, 48, of Glendale Avenue, Boardman, was cited on a charge of knowingly soliciting without a permit.

Menacing: An Aravesta Avenue woman said a tenant threatened her regarding the tenant’s playing loud music.
