Denzel D. Searcy, 19, of Bell Avenue in New Castle, Pa., and Crandall Avenue in Youngstown, was sentenced to five years in prison Wednesday for two Trumbull County robberies, including one at an ATM in Liberty on March 7, 2013.

In the Liberty incident, a 25-year-old woman said one of two men involved pistol-whipped her in front of her 6-year-old child at the ATM on Belmont Avenue. Both men pointed guns at her as they demanded money.

Searcy and an 18-year-old Campbell man were arrested a short time later by Liberty police after a foot chase.

At the time, police said they believed Searcy and the other man also were responsible for similar robberies in Youngstown and other areas.

Searcy later was indicted in Mahoning County on eight counts of felony robbery. Those charges are still pending. Details on those crimes are not available.
