Woman whose dogs were seized awaits sentencing

The woman charged with lack of veterinary care and unsanitary, unhealthful confinement of 105 dogs seized from her North Benton home will have a sentencing hearing at 11:30 a.m. June 12 in Sebring court.

Terri Wylie’s trial was canceled. Court records did not state whether Wylie, 57, entered a new plea for her charges. She originally pleaded not guilty.

She is charged with 106 counts of lack of veterinary care and 100 counts of unsanitary, unhealthful confinement, according to court records.

Mahoning County Animal Charity Society Humane agents seized the dogs in January.

At that time, they told The Vindicator that the home was operated as a puppy mill and Wylie had been in trouble in the past.

The dogs were taken to Animal Charity and then to numerous kennels in Mahoning County.
