Warren man charged with causing public panic with handgun downtown

WARREN

Melvin V. White, 52, of Bane Street in Warren Township was arraigned Tuesday in Warren Municipal Court, charged with misdemeanor inducing panic after witnesses said he pulled out a handgun and waived it around while standing on the sidewalk near the parking lot of the CVS pharmacy on East Market Street.

A police officer went to the Sunrise restaurant next door and found White outside, matching the description of the male that the witnesses described.

White admitted he had a BB gun in his coat pocket, which officers confiscated.
