Authorities probe 2 accidents involving school buses

Crashes occurred involving buses from two school districts Tuesday afternoon, although no children were injured in either one.

A car and a Boardman schools bus collided shortly before 3 p.m. near the intersection of Western Reserve Road and South Avenue, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. No one was injured.

City police are investigating an accident involving a car and school bus that occurred about 4 p.m. at Midlothian and Southern boulevards, according to Vindicator broadcast partner 21 WFMJ-TV.

Witnesses say a vehicle was chasing a white car and it ran the red light at the intersection, striking the bus. There were children in the car and on the bus at the time of the accident, but police say none of them was injured.

The bus driver and the driver of the car were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
