Woodland walks

VILLA MARIA, Pa.

“Family Forest Fun” is the theme of three seasonal family woodland walks sponsored by the Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center.

They begin with the spring walk during which participants will search for, describe and name their favorite tree. During the summer walk, participants will have an even closer look at their adopted tree. In the fall, they will discover the habitat surrounding their tree and use a walking stick.

All walks include child-friendly activities and a take-home project. The walks take place from 1:30 to 3 p.m. April 6 or 10; July 13 or July 17; and Oct. 12 or 16.

Walks are led by Sister Jeanne Thurin. Cost is $2 per person or $5 for families of more than two. To register, call 724-964-8920, ext. 3387, or email jthurin@humilityofmary.org.
