The 2014 major league baseball season is underway, with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers playing each other Saturday and today in, of all places, Australia. To honor this landmark occasion, let’s look at five notable TV performers who hail from the land Down Under — and all of whom appear (or appeared) on series that aired on CBS.

v Simon Baker: From Launceston, Tasmania, he has starred since 2008 as Patrick Jane, a consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation, on “The Mentalist.”

v Toni Collette: Hailing from the Sydney suburb of Blacktown, she stars on “Hostages” as Dr. Ellen Sanders, who faces an excruciating dilemma as she prepares to perform surgery on the U.S. president.

v Anthony LaPaglia: The Adelaide native starred for seven seasons as FBI Agent Jack Malone on “Without a Trace.”

v Poppy Montgomery: Raised in Sydney, she co-starred with fellow Aussie LaPaglia on “Without a Trace” and now plays Det. Carrie Wells on “Unforgettable,” which returns this summer.

v Alex O’Loughlin: Born in Australia’s capital city, Canberra, he stars as Lt. Cmdr. Steve McGarrett on the revival of “Hawaii Five-0.”

“American Dream Builders” (8 p.m., NBC): Nate Berkus hosts “American Dream Builders.” It’s a new reality competition that pits two teams of designers against each other in a race to renovate a pair of similar-looking homes in the same neighborhood.

“Drop Dead Diva” (9 p.m., Lifetime): “Drop Dead Diva,” the soapy drama about a model killed in a car crash and brought back as a lawyer (Brooke Elliott), kicks off its sixth and final season with a two-hour opener. Guest stars for the end run include Rick Springfield, S. Epatha Merkerson, John Ratzenberger, Corbin Bleu and Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts.

“Girls” (10 p.m., HBO): The most consistently enjoyable and reliably funny season of “Girls” comes to a close with Hannah (Lena Dunham) receiving a piece of big news that could affect her writing career, as well as her relationship with Adam (Adam Driver).

‘Rocky Horror’ at Winner center

SHARON, PA.

The James E. Winner Jr. Arts and Culture Center, 98 E. State St., will present “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” at midnight Friday and Saturday.

The box office will open at 11 p.m. both nights. Tickets are $10, which includes a “prop” bag filled with everything needed for an interactive viewing. Those who come dressed in their favorite “Rocky Horror” character’s garb will be entered in a costume contest.

This is a bring-your-own- bottle event.
