Pa. school board member guilty in child-sex case
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A man who served for years on a central Pennsylvania school board has been convicted of indecent assault of a child.
The Dauphin County jury found 48-year-old Rodney Nissley of Hummelstown guilty today on 10 of the 13 counts against him, including aggravated indecent assault, indecent exposure, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors.
The jury was unable to reach verdicts on three other counts, including child rape and statutory sexual assault.
Authorities began investigating in November 2012 after a high-school student told her counselor she had been sexually abused by Nissley starting when she was 7 or 8.
Nissley faces 10 to 20 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled June 19.
