The Canfield Hockey Boosters had its Pancake Breakfast at St. Michael’s Parish Hall to help raise funds for the team March 16. The boosters also celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by decorating the hall with lots of green.

According to Mike Guerrieri, vice president of the boosters, proceeds from the breakfast will go back into the hockey program.

“The money raised here today will go right back into the hockey program to help pay for team necessities, such as ice time,” Guerrieri said.

The event also featured a Chinese auction, which was comprised of items and baskets which were donated by families of players. Items available to win included a television, beats headphones, a Kindle Fire, a basket of gift cards, lottery tickets, an Easter basket and many more.

A variety of St. Patrick’s Day themed baked goods were also available at the bake sale, which were made and donated by hockey families. A 50/50 raffle was also offered.

Hockey players from both the developmental team and varsity team were on hand to help with all aspects of the breakfast, including serving food, washing dishes, making pancakes, selling 50/50 raffle tickets and bussing tables. Several hockey parents were also on hand to help.

According to Barb Drotleff, Canfield Hockey Boosters treasurer, the boosters are gearing up for their largest fundraiser.

“The Canfield Hockey Boosters are joining with the Canfield Little Cardinals and the FIRST Robotics Team to hold the Canfield Sports and Club Dinner and Auction April 5 at Diamondback Golf Course. This is our biggest fundraiser and it is open to the public and everyone is welcome” Drotleff said.

The Canfield Sports and Club Dinner and Auction will be April 5 at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., at Diamondback Golf Course, located at 9399 Leffingwell Road, Canfield. The cost is $25. For more information, call Drotleff at 330-565-1460.
