Series helps artists thrive

The Arts Mean Business, a four-part professional development series designed to help artists thrive financially, will again be offered this year.

The series is sponsored by Youngstown State University’s College of Creative Arts and Communication and Power of the Arts, a community arts and cultural group, with additional support from the Raymond John Wean Foundation.

“The Art of Writing Business Plans,” March 26, 5:30-7:30 p.m.: Presented by Denise Glinatsis Bayer, of The Legal Creative, at McDonough Museum of Art, 525 Wick Ave.

“The Changing Art Market in the Digital Age,” May 14, 5:30-7:30 p.m.: Presented by RJ Thompson, College of Creative Arts and Communication, YSU; at the Raymond John Wean Foundation, 147 W. Market St., Warren.

“Show Me the Money! Finding Grants and Commissions,” Oct.1, 5:30-7:30 p.m.: Presented by Tricia Ostertag of Arts in Stark, at the Raymond John Wean Foundation, 147 W. Market St., Warren.

“My Home Is in the Valley; My Work is Everywhere,” Nov. 5, 5:30-7:30 p.m.: With panelists James Pernotto, visual artist; and Donny Yallech, musician, at McDonough Museum of Art, 525 Wick Ave.
