Assault reported in Campbell

CAMPBELL — Police are investigating a report of felonious assault that allegedly occurred at about 4 p.m. Monday.

Following the call, officers reported to a Chambers Street residence, where a 29-year-old man said he’d been struck in the head with the butt of a gun, then dragged by his hair on the ground. He’d also been repeatedly kicked in the head.

Police observed a visible mark on the man’s forehead and a red face consistent with being hit in a fight.

The man told police that he knew the suspect, and that he fled in a green BMW following the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
