Campbell police arrest two men on drug charges

CAMPBELL

Police on Monday arrested two men on drug charges — and confiscated more than 7 grams of suspected marijuana. At 3:25 p.m., police noticed a man — later identified as Alexander Delacadena, 50, of Sixth Street in Campbell — walking beside the cruiser as it was stopped on 12th Street and holding a plastic baggie up to his face, as if inspecting the contents. He then slipped the baggie into his glove. When an officer asked him about the baggie, Delacadena admitted it was 3.2 grams of marijuana, which he’d purchased earlier. Delacadena was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., police stopped a driver — later identified as Calvin D. Cosey, 40, of Cohasset Drive in Youngstown — on Keystone Street for having objects hanging from his rear view mirror.

Cosey consented to a search of his car, and police found two baggies of suspected marijuana totaling 4.3 grams, along with several blunt wrappers. He was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and cited for the traffic offense.

Both Delacadena and Cosey are set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
