AUCTIONS

St. Joseph and Immaculate Heart of Mary Home and School Association will host its spring quarter auction Saturday at the Maronite Center, 1555 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m., and the auction will begin at 6. The BYOB event is limited to adults only. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased in advance. A required bid from one to four quarters for each item will be based on the value of the item; take your own quarters. Pop, water and various snacks will be available for purchase.Proceeds from a 50-50 raffle will benefit the eighth-grade class trip to New York City. St. Joseph the Provider School has scheduled its annual basket auction and buffet dinner for April 4 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Social Hall, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave., Youngstown. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the buffet begins at 6:30. Tickets cost $20 and are for sale at the school office, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown (St. Anthony Church Complex), 330-259-0353. Admission includes the buffet dinner and 25 tickets. The menu consists of oven fried chicken, marinara pasta with meatballs on the side, baked whitefish, pirogi, vegetable, salad, soft drinks, coffee and tea and a cash bar. Reserved tables of 8 are $160 and must be prepaid by March 31.

BAKE SALES

Community Bill of Rights will benefit from a bake sale fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at a farmers market at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 1105 Elm St.

BINGO PARTIES

Holy Apostles Parish, 563 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will host Super Bingo on April 6. Doors open at noon, dinner will be served from noon to 2, and bingo begins at 2 p.m. The admission is $30, and the payout is $5,000. Admission includes all games, except WTA, 15-on all night cards, 12-on special pack, and dinner, dessert and coffee. IRS and other tickets will be available. Tickets bought by April 4 will be included in a special raffle. Tickets are nonrefundable.

Mother of the Crucifix annual Bingo and Card Party will take place at 3 p.m. March 30 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church social hall in Youngstown. The donation is $6.

St. Patrick Altar & Rosary Society will host its Spring Card and Bingo social from 1 to 4 p.m. April 6 in the church Hall, 357 N. Main St., Hubbard. The donation is $5, which will be collected at the door. A light lunch will be served, and there will be table prizes, door prizes, a basket auction and a 50-50 raffle.

BOOK SALES

Cortland United Methodist Women will host a book and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the fellowship hall of the church, 155 N. High St. On Saturday items will be $2 per bag. There will be gently used books, specialty magazines and puzzles, games, videos, DVDs and more. Proceeds will support the mission projects of the group. Donations are welcome from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays through March 20 or by appointment by calling the church office at 330-637-2571.

CRAFT SHOWS

American Legion Post 166, 141 W. Main St., Alliance, is planning its Spring Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be a variety of vendors such as 31, Scentsy, jewelry, Avon, candles etc. Vendors are being added daily. There will be raffles, food, beverages and baked goods.

SALES

Lockwood United Methodist Church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd,, Youngstown, will have a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Poland Lions Club is accepting donations at the Poland Masonic Lodge, 7685 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 3 and May 10 for a garage sale that will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17 at the lodge. Donations of furniture, small appliances, lamps, tools, books, etc., are needed.

Quota International of Salem is hosting a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church education building, 251 S. Broadway, Salem. Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Salem Community Center’s fifth annual Women’s Night Out will take place March 19. Sponsorship, advertising and vendor tables are now available. Women’s Night Out centers around information, products and services for females of all ages who want to learn ways to take better care of their bodies and minds, and improve upon their lifestyles. Area businesses are encouraged to become a sponsor, advertiser and/or vendor. All proceeds will benefit the operation of the newly added SCC Children’s Fitness Center. TRIPS

Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society Inc. is offering a Cherry Blossom Express tour from March 30 through April 2. The cost is $869 per person for a double and $969 per person for a single. Travel will be on historic railcars, and five meals will be served on the train. Two dinners in D.C. also are included. Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild is sponsoring a bus trip to the Original Sewing and Quilting Expo (www.sewingexpo.com) at the Cleveland IX Center on April 4. The cost will be $33 for members and $37 for nonmembers includes admission, a free class ($19 value), a shopping bag, a commemorative pin and bus transportation. There are three pickup sites: Austintown Plaza (6:30 a.m.), Niles Kmart (7 a.m.) or Champion Big Lots (7:15 a.m.). Reservations must be paid by Friday.
