Woman seriously injured in 1-car accident in Poland Township

POLAND — A Lowellville woman was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown with serious injuries after a one-car accident this afternoon.

The woman, who is in her early 50s, went off the right side of New Castle Road near state Route 289, an action that caused her car to roll over, said Tony Derenzis of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Canfield Post. He added that her injuries at this point do not appear to be life-threatening.

Troopers responded to the accident about 2:15 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.
