SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Girl Scout Troop 157 of Holy Family School in Poland participated recently in a service project for the Touched by Nathan Foundation, which focuses on acts of kindness that provide comfort for the neonatal intensive care unit at Akron Children’s Hospital at St. Elizabeth’s and Special Care Nursery at Akron Children’s Beeghly campus, both in Boardman. The girls made comfort baskets for the families of these fragile babies. The baskets include bottled water, mints, travel size shampoo, conditioner, pain reliever, toothbrush, toothpaste, powder, deodorant and other items families may need so they can stay close to their infant in the NICU. Kneeling, from left, are Caitie Palusak, Gia Diorio, Chloe Mershimer, Taylor Creighton, Madison Richey and Annie Daprile. Standing are Haley DiLullo, Leanne Chandler, Anna Wollet, Audrey Kali, Augusta Fox and Victoria Butera. Other girls who participated are Megan Brockway, Ava Szalay, Lucia Naples, Veronica Brown and Lucy Graziano.
