WARREN

The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District will have Great American Litter Cleanup events in April and May. Volunteers from schools, youth and adult groups and neighborhoods can register their cleanup online at www.startrecycling.com. Select an area to clean and register the site to get free supplies.

The Great American Cleanup is the country’s largest community improvement program, engaging more than 4 million volunteers.

Proposals sought

WARREN

Warren SOUP is now accepting proposals for the next meeting May 2. Deadline for proposals is April 18. SOUP seeks proposals for presenters who have creative projects that will impact Warren positively.

Some types of projects include social entrepreneurship, urban gardens, youth development, fine/performing arts and social justice. Those selected get four minutes to present. Diners get two minutes for follow-up questions. No technology is allowed for presentations.

Diners will vote after presentations are finished, and the winner will be announced at the end of the evening. They will get the proceeds from that evening.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at the Mahoning Valley Hope Center, 3217 Surrey Road SE. Cost is $5 per person.

Bicycle tour

CHAMPION

Registration has begun for the World Of Wildlife Bicycle Tour onJune 7. WOW 2014 will use the Western Reserve Greenway in Trumbull and Ashtabula counties, a rail/trail that passes through residential and rural parts of Northeast Ohio and the Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area.

It will have 20-, 40- or 68-mile courses on an out-and-back route with rest stops and support. Day-of-tour registration and a raffle will be at Kent State University at Trumbull. Proceeds benefit Phase 4 of the bike trail.

Registration forms will be mailed soon, but registration also is available at www.trumbullmetroparks.org/pages/WOW.Pre-registration deadline is May 17.
