Market Street from McClurg Road to Southwoods Avenue will be closed beginning near noon today for the annual Mahoning Valley St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which steps off at 1 p.m.

A St. Patrick’s Day event for V2 Wine Bar and Triattoria will close Phelps Street between North Commerce and West Federal Streets from 4 a.m. Monday to 1 a.m. Tuesday. Commerce and West Federal Streets will remain open to traffic.

The city school district is hosting a community informational meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St., about new programs and activities going on in the district.

Community forum

BOARDMAN

Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, will present a community forum on “Voices of the Valley” at 11:30 a.m. next Sunday.

A panel of speakers representing various civic and social agencies will respond and interact to questions posed about the present and future social issues of Boardman Township and the Valley. Panel members include Judge Lou D’Apolito of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court; Boardman Police Chief Jack Nichols; Maureen Drummond, executive director of HandsOn VolunteersNetwork; and Karen Kannel, social worker for the Boardman schools.

A light lunch will be served and the forum will be informal. Child care also is available on site. Community residents who wish to participate should call the church at 330-758-8189 to make a reservation.

Blood drive set

A blood drive for National Doctors Day will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 31 in the conference room at ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital, 1350 E. Market St.
