Man in SUV shot at food mart and in critical condition

YOUNGSTOWN

A 21-year-old man was shot in the head and arm shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday while sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Petra Food Mart, 2402 South Ave., near Dewey Avenue on the city’s South Side.

The victim, Jaquez Brown, of Youngstown, was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center where he was listed in critical condition, according to the Youngstown Police report.

Police report that more than a dozen shots were fired at the running Chevrolet Suburban, which was at the north end of the parking lot. A suspect was reported fleeing south on South Avenue.
