The Rev. Nathan Ortiz officiated at the 3 p.m. Sept. 21 wedding of Jessica Svasta and Ian Spellman in the Anne Christman Hall of Stambaugh Auditorium.

The couple were honored during a reception at the B&O Station.

The parents of the bride are Paul and Kathleen Svasta of Canfield. The groom’s parents are Lloyd and Marie Spellman of Ellsworth.

The bride wore a gown of ivory lace and beads that featured a sweetheart neckline, scalloped hemline and train.

Nicole Svasta, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Terra Murphy, the bride’s sister; Melissa Ruse; and Mariah Spellman, the groom’s cousin. The bride’s niece, Gia Murphy, was junior bridesmaid. The attendants wore charcoal gray gowns.

Vince Florio performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Levi, Jordan and Aaron Spellman, the groom’s brothers; and Steve Spellman, the groom’s cousin. The bride’s nephews, Jacob and Patrick Murphy, were junior groomsman and ring bearer, respectively.

The bride earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Youngstown State University.

Mr. and Mrs. Spellman live and work in Columbus.

She is employed as a registered nurse at Ohio State University Medical Center. Her husband is a senior loan processor at JPMorgan and Chase Co. in Columbus.
