Pa. high court hears Jordan Brown case
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has been asked to grant a new trial to a Lawrence County teen convicted of killing his father’s pregnant fiance at age 11.
Jordan Brown, now 16, is in juvenile detention after being found responsible in the 2009 shooting deaths of 26-year-old Kenzie Houk and her unborn son.
The Pennsylvania Superior Court later threw out the Lawrence County conviction, prompting state prosecutors to appeal.
Defense lawyer Dennis Elisco argued today that investigators never searched the perimeter of the snowy yard for footprints, or explored what might have happened after Brown went to school.
Houk was shot in the back of the head with the boy’s youth model shotgun.
Chief Deputy Attorney General James Barker said there’s no evidence that anyone else committed the crime.
