Ohio man and his mistress charged in wife slaying
MARION, Ohio (AP) — A man killed his 41-year-old wife with a knife, then hid her body in the basement of their home and cleaned up the scene with help from his 19-year-old mistress, police said as the pair was charged.
David Shockey, 37, of Marion, was charged Tuesday with aggravated murder in Marion Municipal Court and was being held on $2 million bond. His alleged accomplice, Danielle Crokie of Marion, was charged with obstructing justice and was being held on $1 million bond. Each also is charged with a felony count of tampering with evidence.
Shockey’s attorney, Robert E. Wilson, said today that he was just appointed to the case and it was too soon for him to comment. The court had no attorney listed for Crokie.
Police allege Shockey planned to murder Shelly Shockey, his wife of less than four years, and killed her Sunday at their home in Marion, roughly 45 miles north of Columbus.
