Warren man arrested

WARREN

Robert L. Massey, 44, of Riverview Drive, was arraigned Tuesday in Warren Municipal Court on charges of carrying concealed weapons after being arrested early Tuesday outside the Central Social Club, 1171 West Market St.

He was released after posting $20,000 bond.

Police were called to the tavern at 1:09 a.m. Tuesday for a disturbance involving a gun and found five people on the sidewalk arguing.

Massey told police the man with the gun just ran over a fence and behind the building.

But the officer stayed with the five while waiting for other officers to arrive. When they did, the five people were searched, and a loaded handgun was found in Massey’s pant leg.

One of the others, the bar manager, said Massey came in with a handgun after an argument with two other people. She said the gun went off when she “pushed Mr. Massey’s gun hand away.”
