Handgun stolen from Austintown vehicle
AUSTINTOWN — Two vehicles in a residential garage were broken into over the weekend with several items stolen, including a handgun.
Shawn Kerr, of Shadow Oak Drive, told police he visited his neighbors on Saturday from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with his garage open.
According to a police report, he did not open his garage on Sunday. On Monday, he found several items missing. Kerr told police these items were taken from his truck: Smith & Wesson .380 handgun with its holster, a GPS device, camping equipment and a gun-cleaning kit, along with other items. A second car was gone through, but had nothing missing, police said.
