AUCTIONS

St. Joseph and Immaculate Heart of Mary Home and School Association will host its spring quarter auction March 22 at the Maronite Center, 1555 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m., and the auction will begin at 6. The BYOB event is for adults only. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased in advance. A required bid of one to four quarters for each item will be based on its value; take your own quarters. Pop, water and various snacks will be available for purchase. BOOK SALES

Cortland United Methodist Women will host a book and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 21 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 22 in the fellowship hall of the church, 155 N. High St. On March 22 items will be $2 per bag. There will be gently used books, specialty magazines and puzzles, games, videos, DVDs and more. Proceeds will support the mission projects of the group. Donations are welcome from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays through March 20 or by appointment by calling the church office at 330-637-2571.

CRAFT SHOWS

American Legion Post 166, 141 W. Main St., Alliance, is planning its Spring Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 22. There will be a variety of vendors such as 31, Scentsy, jewelry, Avon, candles etc. Vendors are being added daily. There will be raffles, food, beverages and baked goods.

Boardman Gridiron Club will host its third annual Spring Arts and Crafts Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 29 in the Boardman High School gymnasium, 777 Glenwood Ave. The event will feature up to 100 vendors, as well as several booths featuring Easter treats and baked goods. The Boardman High School football team and cheerleaders will assist vendors and patrons. All proceeds will benefit the football and cheerleading programs.

Bristolville United Methodist Church, 6271 N. Park Ave., is planning a craft and vendor show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The church is on the corner of state Routes 45 and 88. The United Methodist Women will sell soup and sandwiches. Event proceeds will benefit Christian education.

FLEA MARKETS

Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., Warren, will host its annual Spring Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be more than 20 vendors, and food will be available for purchase. Money raised will benefit the church educational programs. SALES

Girard Junior Women’s annual trunk sale will take place in May on the Girard city lot, 100 N. Market St., rain or shine. Call 330 545 5962 if interested in renting a space for $10 each.

Quota International of Salem is hosting a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 22 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church education building, 251 S. Broadway. Salem Community Center’s fifth annual Women’s Night Out will take place March 19. For ticket information call 330-332-5885 or stop by the SCC front desk. Area businesses are encouraged to become a sponsor, advertiser and/or vendor. All proceeds will benefit the operation of the newly added SCC Children’s Fitness Center.

TRIPS

AARP 4611 is sponsoring a trip to Detroit on Aug. 15 and 16. It will feature the Annual African World Fest and a visit to Charles H. Wright Museum. Celebrity Dancers are sponsoring a trip to the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pa., to see “Moses” on June 20 and 21. Departure will be at 7 a.m. from the Kmart parking lot on Route 224 in Boardman. St. Andrewes AME Church Fundraiser Alliance is offering a guided tour of Lancaster, Pa., and Amish country April 7 through 10. The cost is $365 for a prepaid double occupancy that will include four days, three nights, six meals and tickets to “Moses” at the Sight and Sound Theater. Other features will be guided tour of Lancaster and Amish country and visits to Kitchen Kettle Village, Landis Valley Museum and Village, the Flight 93 Memorial and Hershey’s Chocolate World.
