BREAKING NEWS | Horse stall agreement reached for Austintown racino
The Ohio Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association and Penn National Gaming, Inc. signed an agreement today covering the number of stalls the Austintown racino site will have — a main point of discussion between the two parties.
According to the agreement, the Austintown site on state Route 46 will have 988 stalls in 13 barns. The agreement also covers, “revenue sharing on proceeds from video lottery terminal revenues to boost race purses, approvals for simulcast of races originating at the track, a coordinated year round racing schedule with ThistleDown Racino and dormitory spaces for grooms working for horsemen at the track,” according to a press release.
The Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course is scheduled to open in the fall. There are 21 live racing dates on the one-mile racetrack scheduled beginning Nov. 24.
The racino will also have a grandstand with more than 1,000 seats and a video lottery terminal with approximately 850 VLTs with restaurants and bars.
