YSU quarterfinal game tickets sold in advance

Tickets will be available in advance for the Youngstown State women’s basketball Horizon League tournament quarterfinal game scheduled for Wednesday at Beeghly Auditorium. The Penguins will play host to Oakland beginning at 7:05 p.m.
Tickets will be sold 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday in the athletic ticket office at Stambaugh Stadium. The ticket office at Beeghly opens at 6 p.m. on game day.
Ticket prices are $10 for reserved (chairback sections) and $7 for general admission (end zones). Season ticket holders have until the end of the day Tuesday to purchase their seats.
Bowling tournament for women’s seniors

The Youngstown-Salem USBC Women’s Bowling Association will hold its 22nd annual senior tournament March 29-30 at Wedgewood Lanes in Austintown. The event is open to women 55 or older who are sanctioned members of the Youngstown-Salem USBC WBA. The entry fee is $17 and entries close on March 22. Poland sells tickets for regional semifinal

The Poland High athletic department will sell tickets to the boys basketball Division II Regional semifinal game on Thursday. The Bulldogs face Cleveland Central Catholic at 6:15 p.m.
Ticket sales will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and from 8 to noon on Thursday.
Hockey title game ends 1-1 with co-champions
COLUMBUS
The 2014 Ohio High School Athletic Association ice hockey state championship game ended with co-state champions — Sylvania Northview and Cleveland St. Ignatius — after the seventh overtime.
The decision to end the game, which was still tied 1-1, was agreed to by both coaching staffs after concern for player safety was expressed. By national rule, there is no shootout procedure in high school hockey.
In a statement, the OHSAA said, “While the decision is being questioned by fans, the OHSAA commends the coaches and school athletic administrators in reaching this decision together without conflict.”
