Meals On Wheels involved in March for Meals

Meals On Wheels of Mahoning County Inc. announced it will participate in the national 2014 March for Meals campaign.
Meals on Wheels’ March for Meals event will include three local mayors — John McNally of Youngstown, William Vansuch of Campbell and Terry Stocker of Struthers, along with Canfield Councilman John Morvay and Austintown Administrator Michael Dockry. They will deliver meals March 19 to senior citizens in each of their communities.
The campaign will conclude with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. March 22 at the new location for Meals On Wheels of Mahoning County, 1840 Market St. The agency was located at John Knox Presbyterian, which closed.
March for Meals is a national campaign that takes place during March, initiated and sponsored by the Meals On Wheels Association of America to raise awareness of senior hunger and to encourage action on the part of local communities.
Hundreds of Senior Nutrition Programs across the United States, such as Meals On Wheels of Mahoning County, promote March for Meals through public events, partnerships with local businesses, volunteer recruitment and fundraising initiatives.
