Rockers will team up for benefit concert

Three rock ’n’ roll veterans will team up for a concert that will raise money for the Humane Society of Columbiana County and area police-dog teams.

Pat McDonald, Chris Anderson and Billy Greer will perform at the March 19 show at the East Liverpool Motor Lodge, 2340 Dresden Ave. The three played together in their early days.

McDonald, a drummer, spent 16 years touring with the Charlie Daniels Band.

Anderson, a guitarist who is on tour with the Outlaws, has written songs for several major acts, including the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackhawk, Bad Company and Hank Williams Jr.

Greer has performed as bass guitarist and vocalist for Kansas since 1986.

Country singer Zach Paxson of Lisbon will open the show at 7 p.m. Paxson will be joined by Dessa Zucarro of Burgettstown, Pa., whose duo Harmon Creek was a finalist on CMT’s “Can You Duet.”

Others slated to perform are members from the Zuke Band and Kryton.

Doors open at 6 p.m. The event also will include a raffle, a basket raffle and autographed memorabilia. Tickets are $15 general admission ($25 for reserved) and can be purchased at the Humane Society complex at 721 E. Pidgeon Road, Salem, or by calling Jenny Pike at 330-420-5397.
