OVI Task Force plans saturation patrols in Mahoning County rest of weekend

The Mahoning County OVI Task Force in conjunction with the Ohio State Highway Patrol conducted an OVI checkpoint on South Avenue south of Mathews Road from 10:30 p.m. Friday to 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Officers from participating agencies of the task force will conduct saturation patrols in various parts of Mahoning County throughout the rest of the weekend.

The checkpoint is funded by federal grant funds. Its goal is to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

Results of Friday night’s checkpoint were not available Saturday.
