Youngstown man arrested after being blocked in by McGuffey School buses

YOUNGSTOWN

Police reports said a man who failed to pull over for officers at about 2:50 p.m. Wednesday on the West Side could drive only a short way before he was blocked in by several school buses in front of McGuffey Elementary School.

Officers were called to Locust and Bouquet avenues for a report of people in separate cars fighting. When they arrived, they tried to pull over a car driven by 39-year-old Thomas Cappitti of Youngstown.

Cappitti, however, failed to stop and traveled about 100 feet down Matta Avenue until he was blocked in by the buses getting ready for the school’s dismissal. Police arrested Cappitti on charges of fleeing and eluding and driving under suspension. He was taken to the Mahoning County jail.
