UPDATE: I-76 exit re-opening after milk spill

YOUNGSTOWN

The Interstate 76 eastbound exit ramp to the Ohio Turnpike was expected to re-open momentarily, an Ohio State Highway Patrol spokesman said.

The exit has been closed for about 5 hours since a commercial semi tractor-trailer carrying unpasteurized milk rolled over this evening, spilling its contents into the Meander Reservoir and forcing the closure of the I-76 eastbound exit ramp to the Ohio Turnpike.

OSHP's Canfield Post said the accident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m., and HazMat arrived on the scene not long afterward.

The semi’s driver was flown to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown to receive treatment, but OSHP has no word on his condition.
