Supporters attend official hiring of new Hubbard superintendent

HUBBARD

The Hubbard school board has officially hired its new superintendent.

The board met Thursday evening to hire Raymond Soloman, the present elementary school principal, at a starting salary of $90,000 a year under a three-year contract.

The room was crowded with teachers, family and other supporters.

Soloman said he appreciates the board’s faith in him.

“This will enable me to work on a broader level of making decisions, which will ultimately impact all students, the staff and the community of Hubbard,” he said.

Soloman has spent 12 years in the district — eight as principal, 3 as assistant principal and one as a fourth-grade teacher.

He graduated from Hubbard High School in 1994.
