Local schools to compete in Quiz Bowl

NORTH LIMA — Sixteen local high schools will be competing in a Quiz Bowl (Academic Challenge) at the South Range Local Schools auditorium at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The schools competing are South Range, Boardman, West Branch, Sebring, Austintown, Canfield, Lowellville, Poland, Columbiana, East Palestine, Youngstown Early College, Western Reserve, Springfield Local, Jackson-Milton, Campbell Memorial and Chaney.

Four students from each school are able to participate at one time, and will answer questions on literature, science, and history. The finalist from the first six rounds completed at South Range will move on to the final competition at the Boardman Barnes & Noble Booksellers at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
