Theft call turns into drug related arrest

Jenna Nair, 26, of Hamilton Avenue, Poland, is charged with theft, possession of drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia after a theft report turned into a drug related arrest.
Boardman police were called about 4 p.m. Tuesday to Once Upon A Child on Boardman-Poland Road, then located on U.S. Route 224 a vehicle that was seen leaving the store. During inventory of Nair’s vehicle, police found a hypodermic needle and spoon with burnt residue inside a diaper bag. There were also five items of clothing, valued at $23.50, believed stolen.
Nair was released on a summons. She had been was arrested in October after she was accused of stealing from Old Navy while she had her child with her. She pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct Feb. 11 in Boardman court and had to pay $100 in fines. She pleaded guilty to endangering children, was given six months probation, ordered to perform 80 hours of community service, referred to a drug and alcohol treatment center and to pay a $100 fine.
