Suspect tackled in yard on Indianola after chase

YOUNGSTOWN

Police chased a man on foot for four blocks late Tuesday evening before catching him in a back yard on East Indianola Avenue and arresting him for resisting arrest.

Officers at East Indianola and Julian avenues tried to pull over a car driven by 41-year-old Phillip P. Harris of Youngstown about 10:45 p.m. because it had no tail lights.

Reports said the car pulled into a drive in the 2600 block of Taft Avenue, and Harris ran away. He ran four blocks before an officer tackled him in a backyard in the 1400 block of East Indianola.

He also was arrested for driving under suspension and taken to the Mahoning County jail.
