“Damn Yankees,SDRq Salem Community Theatre, 490 E. State St., Salem, adult auditions 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday; youth auditions (age 12 to 18) 6 p.m. Tuesday. Director Mark Frost, music director Ed Phillips and choreographer Carrie Mazucco are looking for a cast of seven principal males and five principal females, six to nine male chorus members (including baseball team players), seven to 10 female chorus members and 12 or more youth actors. Auditionees should bring 32 to 36 bars of music (not necessarily from the show). An accompanist will be provided. Bring comfortable shoes to demonstrate dancing ability. Actors will read from the script and interact with others. Callbacks are Wednesday, casting finalized March 13 and the cast list published March 14. First read-through is March 16, with regular rehearsals commencing the next evening. Performances will be May 9-18. Call 330-332-9688.

“The Contraltos,SDRq a comedy murder- mystery dinner-theater production presented by Time Step Productions (a division of Pied Piper Theatre Company), will have auditions at 7 p.m. March 12 and 13 at Easy Street Productions, 865 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. The interactive play requires three men and three women (18 and up) who can play broad comedy and have a flair for improvisation.
